Fuel Injector: Testing and Inspection
Fuel Injector Test
CNG
NOTE: Because there is no liquid (gasoline) passing through the injector to help muffle sound, CNG injectors may seem to be louder (clicking)
than normal.
WARNING: Before performing the following electrical test, be sure the ignition key is in the off position. Also disconnect the electrical
connector at the low- pressure fuel shut-off solenoid located on the right side of the fuel rail. This will prevent natural gas from entering
the engine.
1. Unplug electrical connector from fuel injector. Using a set of jumper wires (approximately 18 gauge wire), momentarily apply 12 volts across
fuel injector terminals. The 12 volt + side of jumper wire set may be attached to either of 2 terminals on fuel injector (polarity not important).
Injector should click after 12 volts has been applied.

2. With injector connector still disconnected, and using an ohmmeter, measure resistance value across terminals of fuel injector (Ohmmeter polarity
at injector is not important). Resistance should be 4.5 ohms .5 ohms.
3. If injector would not click after performing step (1), or resistance values could not be met as in step (2), replace fuel injector.
