Fuel System Manual Control Valve (CNG): Service and Repair
Manual Shut-Off Valve (CNG)

Valve Location

REMOVAL

WARNING:  Natural gas must first be purged from system before removal.

1. Purge fuel system.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Pry out rubber shield clips. Remove rubber shield.
4. Remove fuel tube retainer clamps at body.
5. Remove all fuel tube (line) fittings at valve. The fittings at opposite end of lines may have to be loosened to allow line removal at manual valve.

Clean fittings before removal.

6. Loosen set screw on valve handle and remove handle from valve.
7. Loosen valve mounting nut.
8. Remove valve-to-frame rail bracket bolts and remove assembly from vehicle.
9. Remove valve mounting nut and remove valve from its mounting bracket.

INSTALLATION

1. Position valve to valve mounting bracket.
2. Install valve and mounting bracket assembly to frame rail. Tighten bolts to 14 N.m (130 in. lbs.) torque.
3. Place valve in a horizontal position. Apply thread lock compound to mounting nut. Tighten mounting nut to 22 N.m (190 in. lbs.) torque.
4. Install fuel tube fittings to valve. A Go No-Go gauge tool must be used to check fitting after tightening.
5. Install fuel tube retainer clamps to body
6. Install handle to valve and tighten handle set screw to 1.5 N.m (15 in. lbs.) torque.
7. Check the valve, fuel tubes and fuel tube fittings for gas leaks.
8. Install rubber shield.
