Steering Wheel: Service and Repair
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Ensure front wheels are facing straight ahead.
3. On models equipped with air bag, remove air bag module, then disconnect air bag, horn and speed control wiring connectors.
4. On models less air bag, remove horn pad from steering wheel, then disconnect horn electrical connector.
5. Remove steering wheel nut.
6. Remove steering wheel using puller tool No. C-3428-B, or equivalent. Do not bump or hammer on steering shaft to remove wheel, as damage to
shaft may result.
7. Reverse procedure to install. Torque steering wheel retaining nut to 45 ft-lbs.
