Ram Raider V6-2972cc 3.0L SOHC (1989)
Heater Core: Service and Repair
1. Disconnect battery ground cable, place heater control in warm position and drain cooling system, then disconnect heater hoses at firewall.
2. Remove lap heater ducts, hood release cable bracket, and left and right defroster grilles.
3. Remove glove box assembly, then the instrument cluster.
4. Pull knobs from heater control and pry hole covers from sides of console, taking care not to mar covers or console.
5. Remove screws securing console, pull console away from instrument panel and disconnect electrical connectors.
6. Disconnect air select, mode select and temperature cables from heater assembly.
7. Remove horn pad, mark installation position of steering wheel, then remove steering wheel using suitable puller.
8. Remove center instrument panel brace, fuse box cover and the fuse box.
9. Remove instrument panel fasteners, disconnect necessary electrical connectors and harness clamps, then remove instrument panel.
10. Remove air ducts, heater housing fasteners and the housing assembly.
11. Remove heater core from housing as follows:
a. Remove water valve cover.
b. Remove clamp securing core tubes and disconnect water valve link.
c. Remove clamp and disconnect hose between water valve and core, remove retaining screw and remove water valve.
d. Remove damper link from mode selector damper lever, move damper lever away from heater core opening as far as possible, then withdraw
heater core from housing.

Reverse procedure to install.
