Air Cleaner Housing: Description and Operation

The air cleaner is of the conventional paper element, remote canister type. The canister's main body is attached to the vehicles right fenderwell, while the
clip-on lid is attached to the air intake plenum via a flexible hose coupling.  The function of the air cleaner is to keep harmful dirt and debris from
entering the engine.  The air cleaner also houses (attached to the lid), the air flow sensor, which measures the volume of air entering the engine and sends
this information to the Electronic Control Unit (ECU).
