DISASSEMBLY

Disassemble steering pump in numbered sequence, noting the following: 

1.

Tap rotor side of shaft lightly with plastic hammer to remove pulley and shaft assembly.

2.

Do not disassemble flow control valve. 

INSPECTION

1.

Inspect flow control valve for clogging.

2.

Inspect pulley assembly for wear.

3.

Inspect grooves of rotor, contact surface of cam ring and vanes for wear. 

ASSEMBLY

Assemble steering pump, reversing numbered sequence and noting the following: 

1.

Flow control valve must be installed with corresponding identification marks aligned.

2.

Ensure rotor's punch mark is at pump cover side.

3.

Ensure snap ring is in countersunk part.

4.

Install cam ring so that cam ring punch mark is at pump body side.

5.

Install rounded edges of vanes toward cam ring.
