    Some diagnostic procedures require the use of the MST-6163 pressure tester gauge and adapter. The pressure gauge is required to measure
accumulator pressure during certain phases of ABS operation. The pressure gauge should be installed as follows:

1.

De-pressurize the system as outlined in "De-Pressurizing Hydraulic Accumulator" under "Precautions."

2.

Remove hydraulic assembly accumulator port plug located on the right side of the assembly.

3.

Install pressure gauge to hydraulic assembly adapter tool No. MST-6491A, into accumulator port of hydraulic assembly and torque adapter to 7.5
ft. lbs.

4.

Install pressure gauge and hose assembly tool No. MST-6163, onto adapter tool No. MST-6505, and torque hose fitting to 11 ft. lbs.

5.

Install pressure gauge and hose assembly onto adapter installed on hydraulic assembly. Install the retaining clip into groove on adapter. Ensure
retaining clip is installed on the adapter correctly before proceeding.

6.

After test is performed, de-pressure hydraulic accumulator, remove special tools and install accumulator port plug and torque to 9 ft. lbs.

    It is not necessary to bleed the brake system after installation and removal of the pressure gauge unless additional tubes or fittings were removed or
loosened.
