REPAIR PROCEDURE
This procedure outlines the correction of alternator pulley misalignment. Refer to Figure 1 for this procedure.
1.
Loosen and remove the alternator pivot nut "A". Remove and discard the front washer "B".
2.
Install flat washers "C" (P/N 6500299) and "F" (P/N 6501752) positioned as shown and loosely assemble the alternator pivot nut "A".
3.
Loosen the adjusting screw locking nut "D".
4.
Tighten the adjusting bolt "E" to increase the alternator belt tension to 100 lbs.
5.
Tighten the adjusting screw locking nut "D" to 250 in.lbs. (28 N-m).
6.
Center the inner front flat washer "C" and torque the alternator pivot nut "A" to 30 in.lbs. (41 N-m).
