5. Remove transmission range clip and cable loop end from gear shifter post.
6. Remove adjuster tab on gear shifter bracket, by pushing locking tab on adjuster and sliding adjuster off tab on gear shifter bracket.
7. Remove Air Bag Diagnostic Module (ADM) attaching screws and slide ADM out righthand side of instrument panel center stack area, then

disconnect ADM wiring.

8. Remove instrument panel dimmer module screw to left of steering column and lower module.
9. Remove fuse block attaching screws and lower fuse block.

10. Remove hood release attaching screws, then lower hood release handle.
11. Remove flasher relay from bracket on center distribution duct.
12. Remove ATC sensor motor assembly attaching screw and unhook from bracket.
13. Remove radio ground screw, then center distribution duct screw from lefthand lower instrument panel brace.
14. Remove lower brace attaching screws and brace.
15. Remove steering column support nuts and lower steering column, then remove upper column attaching studs.
16. Remove compact disc player or cubby box attaching screws, then disconnect coax cable from compact disc player.
17. Remove Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) or traveler from vehicle.
18. Remove radio, ATC and heater-A/C controls.
19. Squeeze latches on side of rear window defogger switch and remove.
20. Snap off cluster lower trim bezel, switch pod vent, speaker and defroster grilles.
21. Remove switch pod assembly, cluster assembly and instrument panel speakers.
22. Snap out message center bezel and disconnect wiring.
23. Open glove compartment door, squeeze sides and roll glove compartment completely open, then remove glove compartment light and disconnect

wires.

24. Loosen right cowl side pivot bolt through glove compartment opening, then close glove compartment.
25. Loosen lefthand cowl side pivot, then remove top instrument panel attaching screws and roll panel out.
26. Pull wiring, antenna cable, A/C cable and vacuum lines out of instrument panel.
27. Disconnect demister hose and remove instrument panel with ducts attached.
28. Remove nut/cone washers and passenger's air bag module attaching screws, then air bag module.
29. Reverse procedure to install, noting following:

a. Torque air bag module nuts to 105 inch lbs.

b. Insert transmission range cable into adjuster with gear shifter in low position.
c. Check gear selector indicator for proper alignment.
