SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
On some of the subject vehicles convertible top boot installation may be difficult. The position of the top stack downstops may prevent the top from
going down far enough to allow easy installation of the boot. Adjusting the top stack height downward will ease boot installation.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This procedure outlines the adjustment of the convertible top stack downstops.
1.
Lower the door glass, unlatch and lower the top.
2.
Measure the vertical distance from the center, forward edge of the rear belt molding to the leading edge of the No. 1 bow (Fig. 1). This dimension
should not exceed 3 1/2 in. (90 mm) (Fig. 2).
