Dimmer Switch Replacement

    Disable airbag, refer to Air Bags and Seat Belts/Air Bags (Supplemental Restraint Systems)/Service and Repair. After procedure has been
completed, rearm airbag system.

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove lower steering column cover, then disconnect switch electrical connector.
3. Remove two screws attaching dimmer switch to mounting plate, disengage switch from control rod, then remove the switch.
4. Position new switch, install two attaching screws but do not tighten.
5. Insert control rod, then insert adjustment pin in switch hole to lock switch in adjustment position.
6. Adjust switch by carefully pushing up on switch to take up control rod slack.
7. Tighten switch attaching screws, then remove adjustment pin.
8. Connect dimmer switch electrical connector, then install steering column cover.
9. Connect battery ground cable.
