Throttle Body: Service and Repair
Throttle Body Replacement

REMOVAL

1.

Disconnect negative battery cable, and remove air cleaner hose and clamp.  Disconnect and remove throttle cable, and transaxle linkage.

2.

Disconnect Automatic Idle Speed (AIS) motor, and Throttle Position Sensor (TPS).  Disconnect vacuum hoses from throttle body.

3.

Remove throttle body to intake manifold mounting nuts.  Remove throttle body and gasket.

INSTALLATION

1.

Install throttle body with new gasket and torque mounting nuts to 20 Nm (175 lb-in).

2.

Install throttle body vacuum hoses, TPS connector, and AIS motor connector.  Install throttle cable.

3.

Install air cleaner hose and clamp and torque clamp to 3 Nm (30 lb-in).  Connect negative battery cable and check operation.
