IMPORTANT:
Some of the involved vehicles may be in dealer used vehicle inventory. Dealers should insert a copy of the owner letter into the glove box of these
vehicles before retail delivery. Dealers should also insert a copy of the attached owner letter into the glove box of vehicles in for service. Involved
vehicles can be determined by using the VIP inquiry process.
Subject
The Maintenance Logbook in about 2,700 of the above vehicles does not contain the recommended "DOT 4" brake fluid change interval for commercial
vehicle applications.
It is recommended that the brake fluid be changed every two years with a brake fluid that meets "DOT 4" specifications (Mopar P/N 04549625AC or
equivalent).
Repair
The recommended "DOT 4" brake fluid change interval is included in the owner letter and will be mailed to owners known to DaimlerChrysler. The
owners are requested to keep the letter with their Maintenance Logbook.
Parts Information
No parts are required to perform this service procedure.
Service Procedure
1.
Locate the Maintenance Logbook in the vehicle's glove box.
2.
Insert a copy of the attached owner notification letter into the Maintenance Logbook.
3.
Place the Maintenance Logbook back into the glove box.
Completion Reporting and Reimbursement
Claims for vehicles that have been serviced must be submitted on the DealerCONNECT Claim Entry Screen located on the Service tab. Claims
submitted will be used by DaimlerChrysler to record Customer Satisfaction Notification service completions and provide dealer payments.
Use the labor operation number and time allowance:
FOR UNSOLD VEHICLES: Enter "UPDATE" in the part number section of your claim with a quantity of one (1). Enter $5.00 WITH NO MARK-UP
for maintenance logbook up date handling reimbursement.

Dealer Notification
All dealers will receive a copy of this dealer notification letter by mail. Two additional copies will be sent through the DCMMS. This notification can be
