Front Door Limiter: Service and Repair

Removal

REMOVAL

1. Remove the door trim panel, See: Front Door Panel/Service and Repair/Service Manual/Front Door Trim Panel - Removal.
2. Disconnect the front door control unit (3) disconnect the electrical connectors (4).
3. Disconnect the electrical connector (5).
4. Remove the screws (6) and remove the speaker (7).
5. Carefully position aside the watershield (9) enough to gain access to the check (1), .
6. Remove the check bolt (8) from the A-pillar.
7. Remove the check bolts (2) from the door and remove the check (1).

Installation

INSTALLATION

1. Install the door check (1) and install the bolts (2).
2. Tighten the bolts (2) to 9 Nm (80 in. lbs.).
3. Connect the check (1) to the A-pillar and install the bolt (8).
4. Tighten the bolt (8) to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the watershield (9), .
6. Install the speaker (7) and install the screws (6).
7. Connect the speaker electrical connector (5).
8. Install the front door control unit (3) and connect the electrical connectors (4).
