Auxiliary Water Pump: Service and Repair
Removal

REMOVAL

and cautions may result in serious or fatal injury.

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Partially drain the engine cooling system See: Service and Repair.
3. Remove the air cleaner housing from the engine compartment See: Engine/Tune-up and Engine Performance Checks/Air Cleaner Housing/Service

and Repair.

4. Disconnect the wire harness connector (1) from the electric coolant pump (2).
5. Loosen the hose clamps (4) from the electric coolant pump.
6. Using a twisting motion gently remove both heater hoses (3 and 6) from the electric coolant pump.
7. Remove the electric coolant pump from the bracket (5).
