Hose/Line HVAC: Service and Repair
A/C Line - Removal
Discharge Line
REMOVAL

and cautions may result in serious or fatal injury.
1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the air cleaner housing from the engine compartment See: Filters/Air Cleaner Housing/Service and Repair.
3. Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Service and Repair/Refrigerant System Recovery.
4. Remove the nut that secures the A/C discharge line (8) to the left side of the A/C condenser (7).
5. Disconnect the A/C discharge line from the A/C condenser.
6. Remove the bolt that secures the A/C discharge line to the A/C compressor (9).
7. Disconnect the A/C discharge line from the A/C compressor.
8. Remove the A/C discharge line from the engine compartment and remove and discard the O-ring seals.
9. Install plugs in, or tape over the opened refrigerant line fittings and the compressor and condenser ports.

NOTE: The A/C liquid line is serviced in three sections.
FRONT SECTION
1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Service and Repair/Refrigerant System Recovery.
3. Remove the air cleaner housing from the engine compartment See: Filters/Air Cleaner Housing/Service and Repair.
4. Remove the nut that secures the A/C discharge line (2) to the A/C condenser (7).
5. Disconnect the A/C discharge line from the A/C condenser and remove and discard the O-ring seal. Position the A/C discharge line out of the way.
