7. Position the front outboard seat belt lower anchor (3) to the outboard side of the seat (1) frame. Be certain that the seat belt webbing between the

turning loop and the seat frame is not twisted. On the driver side and on vehicles equipped with a passenger side bucket seat, pull the outboard side
shield away from the seat cushion far enough to engage the lower anchor to the seat frame.

8. Install and tighten the screw (2) that secures the lower anchor to the outboard side of the seat frame. Tighten the screw to 37 Nm (27 ft. lbs.).
9. On the driver side and on vehicles equipped with a passenger side bucket seat, reinstall the plastic cover over the screw that secures the lower

anchor to the seat frame.

10. Do not reconnect the battery negative cable at this time. The supplemental restraint system verification test procedure should be performed

following service of any supplemental restraint system component. See: Powertrain Management/Computers and Control Systems/Testing and
Inspection/Diagnostic Trouble Code Tests and Associated Procedures/Verification Tests.

Rear

REAR

WARNING: To avoid serious or fatal injury during and following any seat belt or child restraint anchor service, carefully inspect all seat belts,
buckles, mounting hardware, retractors, tether straps, and anchors for proper installation, operation, or damage. Replace any belt that is cut,
frayed, or torn. Straighten any belt that is twisted. Tighten any loose fasteners. Replace any belt that has a damaged or ineffective buckle or
retractor. Replace any belt that has a bent or damaged latch plate or anchor plate. Replace any child restraint anchor or the unit to which the
anchor is integral that has been bent or damaged. Never attempt to repair a seat belt or child restraint component. Always replace damaged or
ineffective seat belt and child restraint components with the correct, new and unused replacement parts listed in the DaimlerChrysler
Mopar(R) Parts Catalog.

NOTE: The following procedure applies to the seat belt retractors used on any two-position or three-position rear passenger bench seat.

1. Position the rear seat belt and retractor (5) as a unit to the bracket on the rear seat cushion frame. Be certain to engage the tab on the retractor

bracket into the locating slot of the seat frame bracket.

2. Install and tighten the screw (4) that secures the retractor to the seat frame bracket. Tighten the screw to 37 Nm (27 ft. lbs.).
3. Route the seat belt lower anchor (6), latch plate (1) and webbing (3) through the two turning loops (2) and the turning loop bracket at the top of the

seat back frame. Be certain that the webbing between the retractor and the turning loops is not twisted.
