Power Steering Line/Hose: Service and Repair
Power Steering Hoses - Installation
Pressure Hose - Pump To Steering Gear Line
PRESSURE HOSE - PUMP TO STEERING GEAR LINE
1. Install the pressure hose to the vehicle.
2. Reconnect the pressure hose at the steering gear line. Tighten to 18 Nm (13 ft.lbs.).
3. Install the pressure hose routing brackets to the cradle.
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Reconnect the pressure hose at the power steering pump. Tighten to 38 Nm (28 ft.lbs.).
6. Fill the power steering fluid See: Power Steering Bleeding/Service and Repair/Power Steering Pump Fill and Bleed Procedure
7. Reinstall the washer bottle mounting screws and reconnect the electrical connectors.
Pressure Line - Gear To Pressure Hose
PRESSURE LINE - GEAR TO PRESSURE HOSE
1. Install the pressure line to the vehicle.
2. Reconnect the pressure line at the steering gear. Tighten to 18 Nm (13 ft.lbs.).
3. Reconnect the pressure hose at the pressure line. Tighten to 38 Nm (28 ft.lbs.).
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Fill the power steering fluid See: Power Steering Bleeding/Service and Repair/Power Steering Pump Fill and Bleed Procedure
Return Hose - Reservoir Hose To Cooler Tube
RETURN HOSE - RESERVOIR HOSE TO COOLER TUBE
1. Install the return hose to the vehicle.
2. Reconnect the return hose at the cooler tube.
3. Reconnect the return hose at the reservoir.
4. Fill the power steering fluid See: Power Steering Bleeding/Service and Repair/Power Steering Pump Fill and Bleed Procedure
Return Line - Gear To Cooler Tube
RETURN LINE - GEAR TO COOLER TUBE
1. Install the return line to the vehicle.
2. Reconnect the return line at the gear and install the 1 bolt.
3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Reconnect the return line from the gear to the cooler.
5. Fill the power steering fluid See: Power Steering Bleeding/Service and Repair/Power Steering Pump Fill and Bleed Procedure
Supply Hose
SUPPLY HOSE
1. Install the supply hose to the vehicle.
2. Reconnect the supply hose at the reservoir.
3. Reconnect the supply hose at the pump.
4. Fill the power steering fluid See: Power Steering Bleeding/Service and Repair/Power Steering Pump Fill and Bleed Procedure
5. Reinstall the washer bottle mounting screws and reconnect the electrical connectors.
