Lifter / Lash Adjuster: Procedures
INSPECTION
1. Clean each lifter assembly in cleaning solvent to remove all varnish and sludge deposits. Inspect for indications of scuffing on the side and base of
each lifter body (2).
2. Squeeze the lifter and be sure that the spring returns the lifter to its correct position.
3. Inspect the retaining clip (3) and rocker arm (1) roller for damage or excessive wear.
4. Replace any worn or damaged components.
