Cabin Air Filter: Removal and Replacement
Removal
REMOVAL
1. Disengage the two retaining tabs (1) that secure the particulate air filter (2) into the fresh air inlet housing (3) located in the engine compartment.
NOTE: To aid in reinstallation, note the installed position of the particulate air filter indicated by the arrow on the side of the filter.
2. Remove the particulate air filter from the fresh air inlet housing. Note the direction of air flow indicated by the arrow on the filter.
Installation
INSTALLATION
NOTE: The particulate air filter is labeled with an arrow to indicate air flow direction through the filter. Make sure to properly install the particulate air
filter into the fresh air inlet housing. Failure to properly install the particulate air filter will result in the need to replace the filter sooner than required by
design.
1. Install the particulate air filter (2) into the fresh air inlet housing (3) located in the engine compartment. Insert the particulate air filter directly
down into the filter housing with the arrow on the filter pointing toward the rear of the vehicle and with the filter properly located in the bottom of
the housing.
2. Engage the two retaining tabs (1) that secure the top of the particulate air filter to the fresh air inlet housing. Make sure the filter is properly
located in the housing and that the retaining tabs fully engage the filter.
