Fuse Block: Service and Repair

Removal
REMOVAL
WARNING: To avoid serious or fatal injury on vehicles equipped with airbags, disable the supplemental restraint system before attempting
any steering wheel, steering column, airbag, seat belt tensioner, impact sensor, or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect
and isolate the battery negative (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge before performing further
diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the supplemental restraint system. Failure to take the proper precautions could result
in accidental airbag deployment.
1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the trim from the left cowl side inner panel.
3. Release the retaining tabs at the top of the fuse block housing that secure it to the Fuse/Relay Block #1 (also known as the SRB). Pull the fuse
block housing rearward to separate it from the SRB.
4. Disconnect all electrical connectors from the fuse block.
5. Remove the fuse block from the vehicle.
Installation

1. Position the fuse block into the vehicle left of the steering column.
2. Install fuse block connections and connect all electrical connectors on the fuse block.
3. Push the fuse block housing forward to secure it to the Fuse/Relay Block #1 (also known as the SRB). Ensure the retaining tabs at the top of the
fuse block housing that secure it to the SRB are fully seated.
4. Reinstall the trim onto the left cowl side inner panel.
5. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
