Parking Assist Control Module: Description and Operation
Description
DESCRIPTION
The park assist module (also known as the ParkTronic System/PTS module) is secured by two integral tabs and two screws to a stamped metal bracket
which is secured within the driver side seat riser. The module is concealed beneath the driver side front seat cushion on vehicles that are so equipped.
The module is connected to the vehicle electrical system through dedicated take outs and connectors of the vehicle wire harness. Concealed within the
molded plastic park assist module housing is a microprocessor and the other electronic circuitry of the module. The module housing is sealed to enclose
and protect the internal electronic circuitry.
There are two molded mounting tabs integral to the module housing. Two connector receptacles containing terminal pins that connect the module to the
vehicle electrical system are integral to the side of the housing oriented downward in the vehicle.
The park assist module cannot be adjusted or repaired and, if damaged or ineffective, it must be replaced.
