Parking Assist Control Module: Service and Repair
Installation
INSTALLATION
WARNING: To avoid serious or fatal injury on vehicles equipped with airbags, disable the supplemental restraint system before attempting
any steering wheel, steering column, airbag, seat belt tensioner, impact sensor, or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect
and isolate the battery negative (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge before performing further
diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the supplemental restraint system. Failure to take the proper precautions could result
in accidental airbag deployment.
1. Position the park assist module (3) within the driver side front seat riser (1).
2. Reconnect the two wire harness connectors to the module connector receptacles.
3. Engage the two tabs on the upper edge of the module into the slots of the mounting bracket.
4. Install and tighten the two screws (5) that secure the lower end of the module to the mounting bracket. Tighten the screws securely.
5. If the vehicle is so equipped, reposition the relay and module mounting strips (4) to the top of the riser above the module. Be certain none of the
wiring within the riser is pinched or damaged.
6. If removed, install and tighten the relay and module strip screws. Tighten the screws securely.
7. Reinstall the park assist buzzer (2) within the riser.
8. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
