6. Install the screws (3) and the lower steering column opening cover (2), and the side cover (1).
7. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
8. If the original EIS was communicating on the CAN Bus, use the scan tool to transfer the basic vehicle configuration to the new EIS. Otherwise,
use the scan tool to download the correct flash file for the vehicle, and program the new EIS control unit.
9. Using the scan tool, program the EIS to recognize the existing key fobs.
10. For vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission, verify that it is possible to shift the transmission selector lever out of position "P" with the
key on the on position and when the brake pedal is depressed. It should only be possible to remove the vehicle key when the selector lever is in
position "P".
