Air Bag Control Module: Service and Repair
Side Impact Airbag Control Module
WARNING: THE MODULES CANNOT BE INTERCHANGED. THEY ARE UNIQUE TO EACH SIDE. FAILURE TO INSTALL THEM
PROPERLY COULD RESULT IN OCCUPANT PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH.
REMOVAL
The removal and installation of the driver and passenger side modules is identical. The orientation of the modules is the only difference.
1. Open hood.
Battery Negative Cable Remove/Install
2. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
3. Wait two minutes for the system reserve capacitor to discharge before servicing any airbag components.
4. Remove the door sill trim from the appropriate side of the vehicle.
5. Peel back carpet to gain access to the retaining screws.
