Intake Manifold: Service and Repair

1.

Relieve fuel system pressure, refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELIEF.

2.

Drain engine coolant.

3.

Remove intake air plenum, refer to INTAKE AIR PLENUM. 

4.

Remove intake manifold in sequence shown in Fig. 14, noting the following:
a. Disconnect delivery pipe with injectors attached.

5.

Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install intake manifold gasket with adhesive coated side toward the intake manifold.
b. Apply lubricant to the intake manifold nuts and tighten to specification.
