Stealth V6-2972cc 3.0L SOHC (1995)
Ignition Power Transistor
NOTE: An analog-type circuit tester should be used.
1. Connect the negative (-) terminal of the 1.5 V power supply to terminal (2) of the ignition power transistor; then check whether there is continuity
between terminal (3) and terminal (2) when terminal (1) and the positive (+) terminal are connected and disconnected.
NOTE: Connect the (-) probe of the circuit tester to terminal (3).
2. Replace the ignition power transistor if there is a malfunction.
Power Transistor Test
NOTE: The circuit tester used in the following test procedures should be of the "analog" type.
1. Disconnect the electrical connector to the Power Transistor.
Testing The Power Transistor
2. Connect the positive lead of an ohmmeter to terminal # 2, and the negative lead of the ohmmeter to terminal # 3. There should be NO continuity.
3. Connect the positive lead of a 1.5 volt battery to terminal # 1 and the negative lead of the battery to terminal # 2. There should be continuity only
while the battery is connected.
