Connect the negative lead from the battery to terminal # 2 of the VSS.

Connect the positive lead from the battery to a 3-10k ohm resistor and a lead wire from the resistor to terminal # 3 of the VSS.
5.
Connect a second lead wire from the positive terminal of the battery to terminal # 1 of the VSS.
As the pulse generator shaft is rotated, voltage should be indicated on the voltmeter 4 times per shaft revolution.
6.
If the test results deviate from above, replace the VSS Sensor.
