NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES BUILT PRIOR TO 02-93 AND EQUIPPED WITH THE W5MGI (GETRAG) MANUAL
TRANSMISSION.

1991-1993 (B7) Stealth

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Customer complaints that the speedometer is reading higher than the actual speed of the vehicle may be the result of the speedometer driven gear
calibration. This condition can be corrected by replacing the gear with a revised speedometer driven gear.

DIAGNOSIS:

Road test the vehicle over a known distance (a measured mile) and check the odometer reading for accuracy. Vehicles with a discrepancy (generally
greater than 4%) should have the repair procedure performed.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This repair involves the replacement of the Speedometer Driven Gear Assembly with a revised one.

Replace the Speedometer Driven Gear Assembly following the instructions listed in the appropriate service manual for the model year involved.
