SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Vehicle exhibits a vibration that can't be eliminated with normal tire and wheel balancing. The vibration may be caused by wheel runout. New wheel
runout specifications (both radial and lateral) have been established.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This repair procedure involves measuring wheel runout.

1.

Mark the wheel stud closest to the tire valve stem for future reference.

2.

Remove the wheel and tire assembly from the vehicle.

3.

Adjust the wheel bearings and check the wheel mounting surface for runout.

4.

Remove the tire from the wheel and remount the wheel on the vehicle in the same stud position outlined in Step 1.

5.

Tighten the lug nuts to the specified torque outined in the appropriate service manual.
