Wastegate Solenoid: Testing and Inspection
Turbo Pressure Relief Solenoid Valve Test
1.
Connect a hand vacuum pump to the solenoid valve (A) nipple.
2.
Apply vacuum. Vacuum should NOT leak.
3.
Using lead wires with alligator clips, connect the solenoid terminals to the battery.
4.
Apply vacuum to the solenoid valve.

While the (B) nipple of the solenoid is open, vacuum should LEAK.
^
While the (B) nipple of the solenoid is plugged, vacuum should NOT leak.
Turbo Pressure Relief Solenoid Resistance Test
5.
Measure the resistance between the solenoid terminals.
Refer to SPECIFICATIONS/ELECTRICAL.
