Rechecking The TPS

Connect an ohmmeter to terminal # 1 and terminal # 3 of the TPS connector.
4.
Verify that the resistance changes smoothly as the throttle valve is opened and closed slowly.
5.
Connect the ohmmeter to terminal # 3 and terminal # 4 of the TPS connector.
6.
Verify that the resistance changes smoothly as the throttle valve is opened and closed slowly.
7.
Check for continuity between terminals # 2 and # 1,

While the throttle valve is fully closed - continuity

While the throttle valve is fully opened - no continuity
8.
If there is not continuity with the throttle valve fully closed, turn the TPS in a clockwise direction and then recheck.
If the TPS does not meet specifications, remove and replace the Idle Position Switch.
