Trailing Arm: Service and Repair

1. Remove trailing arm as shown, noting the following:
a. Using tool No. C3281 or equivalent, secure rear axle, then remove self-locking nut.
b. Using tool Nos. C637 and CT 1003 or equivalent, remove rear axle shaft.
c. Using tool No. MB990635 or equivalent, disconnect ball joint from knuckle assembly. Suspend tool with suitable rope to prevent dropping.
d. Loosen ball joint attaching nut, do not remove.
2. Reverse procedure to install.
