Using a dial indicator, check wheel runout as shown in Figure 1. Refer to Figure 2 for REVISED Wheel Runout specifications.

If wheel is out of specification, rotate the wheel 180 Degrees on the hub and check runout.

If the wheel still exceeds the limits, replace the wheel.

9.

If the wheel runout is now in specification, mark the stud nearest the valve stem and erase the original mark made in Step 1.

10.

Install the tire on the wheel and balance the assembly on an off-the-car dynamic balancer.

11.

Install the wheel and tire assembly on the vehicle (located on the stud with new mark made in Step 9.) and tighten to the specified torque.

12.

Verify the condition is eliminated.
