Replace crankshaft, flywheel and driveplate as shown in Fig. 64, noting the following when assembling:
a. Install main bearings half with an oil groove on the cylinder block and the other half with no oil groove on the bearing cap side.
b. Install thrust bearings with the groove side facing outward on No. 3 journal.
c. Install bearing cap and tighten cap bolts to specification.
d. Apply engine oil to thread and bearing surface of each bearing cap stay bolts. Bearing cap stays A and B differ in shape, install in correct

order, Fig. 65.

e. Temporarily tighten bolts on cylinder block side.
f.

Torque bolts on bearing cap side to specification.

g. Torque bolts on cylinder block side to specification.
h. Using seal installation tool No. MD998718 or equivalent, install rear crankshaft oil seal.
