Coolant Temperature Switch Removal and Installation

Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor And Switch Removal

REMOVAL
1. Drain approximately 2 quarts of coolant from the radiator drain plug.
2. Remove air intake hoses and upper radiator hose.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector.
4. Remove the sensor with a suitable socket.

Coolant Temperature Sensor

INSTALLATION
1. Apply sealant to the threaded portion of the sensor.

Specified Sealant:
3M Nut Locking P/N 4171 or equivalent.

2. Install the sensor and tighten to the specified torque.

Specified Torque:  6 ft.lbs. (8 Nm)

3. Reconnect the electrical connector.
4. Refill the radiator and check for leaks.
