Differential Carrier Replacement

1. Drain differential gear oil.
2. Remove main muffler assembly as follows:
a. Remove main muffler and center exhaust pipe attaching bolts and gasket.
b. Remove rubber hanger attaching bolts.
c. Remove main muffler assembly.
3. Remove differential carrier as shown noting the following:
a. Using suitable tool, remove driveshaft from differential carrier. Ensure differential carrier oil seal is not damaged by driveshaft spline.
b. Mark differential companion flange and propeller shaft flange yoke for installation alignment.
c. Support propeller shaft with suitable wire.
d. Hold bottom of differential carrier, then remove rear wheel oil pump through mounting hole, then remove differential carrier.
4. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install rear wheel oil pump through mounting hole, then install differential carrier.
b. Align flange yoke and companion flange mating mark, then install propeller shaft.
