Balance Shaft Timing Chain Tension Adjustment.
c. When adjusting balance shaft timing chain tension, position a shim 0.039 inch thick by 2.75 inches long between tensioner and chain. Push
tensioner and shim against timing chain with a force of 5.5-6.6 lbs. With force applied to timing chain, tighten top tensioner bolt, then bottom
tensioner bolt to specifications.
Installation
NOTE: Balance shaft and carrier assembly installation is the reverse of the removal procedure. During installation crankshaft to balance shaft timing
must be established. Refer to Timing procedure out-lined below.
