Transmission Position Switch/Sensor: Description and Operation
PRNDL Switches
The PRNDL switch is used as an input to the Transmission Control Module (TCM) as to what gear position the operator has selected. There are two
sides to this switch.
One side of the switch is used to indicate to the TCM when the operator has selected PARK/LOW position. This side of the switch is case grounded and
circuit T42 connects from the switch to the TCM.
The other side of the switch covers the REVERSE, NEUTRAL, and OVERDRIVE positions. This circuit is supplied power from the TCM on circuit T1.
When the switch is CLOSED, power is passed through the switch to circuit Z13, which is the ground circuit, and terminates at the left strut tower.
