Motor Runs at High Speed, But Will Not Move at Low

1. Disconnect motor connector. If motor will not run on low speed, connect a jumper wire between battery positive and terminal 3 of motor

connector. Connect a second jumper between battery ground and terminal 2 of motor connector.

2. If motor does not run, replace motor. If motor runs proceed to step 5.
3. If motor will not run at high speed, connect a jumper wire between battery positive terminal and terminal 4. Connect a second jumper wire

between ground and terminal 2 of motor connector.

4. If motor does not run, replace motor. If motor runs proceed to step 6.
5. If wipers will not run at low speed use a suitable ohmmeter, check for open circuit. Check between terminal 11 of HI-LO wiper relay to terminal 3

of wiper motor wire harness connector for continuity. If satisfactory proceed to step 6, if not repair as necessary.

6. If wiper will not run at high speed, using a suitable ohmmeter, check for an open circuit. Check between terminal 28 of HI-LO wiper relay and

terminal 11 of wiper motor wire harness connector for continuity. If satisfactory proceed to next step. If not satisfactory repair as necessary.

7. Check for faulty HI-LO wiper relay.

Motor Runs at Low Speed, But Will Not Move at High

1. Disconnect motor connector. If motor will not run on low speed, connect a jumper wire between battery positive and terminal 3 of motor

connector. Connect a second jumper between battery ground and terminal 2 of motor connector.

2. If motor does not run, replace motor. If motor runs proceed to step 5.
3. If motor will not run at high speed, connect a jumper wire between battery positive terminal and terminal 4. Connect a second jumper wire

between ground and terminal 2 of motor connector.

4. If motor does not run, replace motor. If motor runs proceed to step 6.
5. If wipers will not run at low speed use a suitable ohmmeter, check for open circuit. Check between terminal 11 of HI-LO wiper relay to terminal 3

of wiper motor wire harness connector for continuity. If satisfactory proceed to step 6, if not repair as necessary.

6. If wiper will not run at high speed, using a suitable ohmmeter, check for an open circuit. Check between terminal 28 of HI-LO wiper relay and

terminal 11 of wiper motor wire harness connector for continuity. If satisfactory proceed to next step. If not satisfactory repair as necessary.

7. Check for faulty HI-LO wiper relay.

Motor Will Keep Running With Switch In "Off" Position

1. Check wiper motor wiring harness for shorts between low speed motor feed terminal 3 or high speed motor feed terminal 4 and battery or ignition.
2. Check for faulty wiper intermittent or HI-LO relays, then check circuit from intermittent relay cavity 37 to HI-LO relay cavity 36 for short to

battery or ignition.

3. Disconnect body controller J3 connector. Check circuit from terminal 7 of J3 14 way connector to terminal 29 of intermittent wiper relay for short

to ground.

4. Using a suitable voltmeter connect positive lead to terminal 1 of body controller. Connect negative lead to ground.
5. If voltmeter reads greater than zero volts, check wiper switch and wiring.
6. Connect voltmeter positive lead to terminal 1 of body controller connector, of voltmeter read 10 to 15 volts, check circuit for short to battery or

ignition. If voltmeter read zero volts, replace body controller.

Wipers Do Not Run When Washer Motor Is Engaged

1. Disconnect J3 14-way connector from body controller.
2. Using a suitable voltmeter, connect positive lead to terminal No.7 of 14-way connector.
3. Engage washer switch so that washer motor runs continuously.
4. If voltage is zero, check wiring between washer motor and body controller, repair if necessary.
5. If voltage is 10-15 volts, replace body controller.

Wipers Run at Low Speed With Switch In High Speed Position

1. Check for faulty HI-LO wiper relay.
2. Using a suitable ohmmeter check for open circuit between terminal 10 of HI-LO wiper relay and terminal 8 of body controller J3. If satisfactory

check wiper switch. If not satisfactory repair as necessary.

Wipers Run Continuously\Switch In Intermittent Position

Wiper Will Run Continuously With Switch In Intermittent Position; When Column Switch Is Turned Off Wipers Stop Wherever They Are Without
Returning To Park Position

1. Check for ground at wiper motor wire connector terminal 1.
2. Using a suitable ohmmeter and with wiper motor in PARK position, check for continuity between terminal 1 and terminal 2 of motor connector. If

satisfactory proceed to next step. If not satisfactory replace motor.

3. Check for continuity between terminal 1 of motor wire harness connector and terminal 5 of J3 14-way connector of body controller. Using a

suitable voltmeter check for short circuit to battery or ignition feed in this circuit.
