Replace the insulator with with the revised component p/n MR297465. It is important to note that the part number for the insulator did not change.
The revised insulator incorporates 3 raised bosses as shown (Fig. 1).

Reassemble the strut assembly with the new insulator.
5.
Align the coil spring in the strut assembly seat and temporarily tighten the self-locking nut.
6.
Use special tool MB991176 to hold the strut and tighten the self-locking nut to 64 Nm (47 Ft Lbs).
NOTE:
DO NOT USE AN IMPACT WRENCH TO TIGHTEN THE SELF-LOCKING NUT.
7.
Reinstall the strut into the vehicle and verify the repair.
