SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Some vehicles may exhibit a creaking, snapping, or rattle sound originating from the rear glass area. These sounds may be caused by the rear exterior
vinyl molding sticking and releasing from the glass or sliding against the surface of the glass.
DIAGNOSIS:
Drive the vehicle in dry weather, over various road conditions with someone listening for the sound in the back seat. If the sound is heard, stop the
vehicle and isolate the right and left molding from the glass with tape. Make sure the tape covers the glass to its edge. Drive the vehicle again to see if the
sound is eliminated. If the sound is eliminated, perform the Repair Procedure.
