Automatic Transmission Shift Boot: Service and Repair

SHIFT BOOT 

REMOVAL

1. Remove the shifter knob set screw and pull knob off of the shifter (Fig. 25).

NOTE:  Do not use a trim stick or tool to remove transmission range indicator.

2. Remove transmission range indicator bezel by squeezing the sides slightly and lifting up until the locking tabs are free of the floor console. Refer

to (Fig. 25) for pressure points.

3. Disconnect the electrical connector, if equipped, and remove the shift boot (Fig. 26).
