Flow of Diagnosis
1. Verify customer complaint by getting a detailed description from customer. Road test and perform vehicle inspection to ensure that the fault(s) are
not the result of a problem with
2. Check TSB's for updated test procedures, warranty information and recalls.
3. Refer to these checks under TESTING PROCEDURES. These preliminary checks may quickly identify the cause of a malfunction and eliminate
the need for additional diagnostic procedures.
4. Begin diagnostic testing with TEST 1-SYSTEM SELF CHECK under DIAGNOSTIC CHARTS. This will direct you to the specific test(s) that
must be performed in response to the specific vehicle fault.
NOTE: The wire color codes specified in the diagnostic charts may differ from the actual wire colors on the vehicle. Refer to ELECTRICAL
AND ELECTRONIC DIAGRAMS for specific wire identification.
