Strut Tower Brace: Service and Repair

FRONT STRUT TOWER TO TOWER BRACE

REMOVAL

1. Remove air cleaner housing.

2. Remove front strut tower to tower brace mounting bolts (Fig. 36).

NOTE:  The use of a rubber mallet may aid removal of the front strut tower to tower brace.

3. Remove front strut tower to tower brace (Fig. 36).

INSTALLATION

1. Position front strut tower to tower brace into mounting position (Fig. 36).

NOTE:  The use of a rubber mallet may aid alignment of front strut tower to tower brace.

2. Align brace to allow mounting bolt installation. Hand start all mounting bolts (Fig. 36).
3. Tighten the two inboard mounting bolts to 41 N.m (30 ft.lbs.).
4. Tighten the two front mounting bolts to 41 N.m (30 ft.lbs.).
5. Install air cleaner housing.
