Remove the power steering pump assembly and set it aside in the driver side frame rail area (Figure 5).

Remove the accessory drive belt idler pulley (Figure 5).

Remove the generator (Figure 5).

Disconnect the heater hoses from the timing chain cover.

Disconnect the ground cable from the thermostat housing.

Install engine lift fixture special tool # 8534-B and # 9363 and raise engine/transmission assembly. Raise the vehicle.

Remove the flywheel inspection cover.

Remove the oil pan bolts.

Carefully separate the oil pan from the oil pan-to-engine block gasket. Lower the oil pan leaving the gasket attached to the block. Do not remove
the oil pan gasket. It can be reused, unless it is damaged.

Disconnect oil pick up tube and lower it into the oil pan (Figure 6).
