12. Using a pin drift, drive the brake shoe retaining pin into the caliper. Be sure retaining pin is installed until retaining pin snap ring is seated in
outboard side of caliper. Refer to illustration to ensure that the rear caliper brake shoes and components are correctly installed.
13. Install the wheel and tire. Tighten the wheel mounting stud nuts in proper sequence until all nuts are torqued to half specification. Then repeat the
tightening sequence to the full specified torque of 122 Nm (90 ft. lbs.).
14. Remove jackstands or lower hoist.
15. Lower the vehicle to the ground so the full weight of the vehicle is supported by the tires.
16. Apply the parking brake to keep vehicle from moving when torquing the hub/bearing to yoke mounting nut.
17. Tighten the yoke to rear hub/bearing mounting nut to a torque of 257 Nm (190 ft. lbs.).
18. Install the spring washer, retainer and cotter pin for the rear hub nut on the yoke.
19. Apply wheel brakes several times to seat brake shoes and equalize parking brake adjustment.
20. Road test vehicle making several stops to wear off any foreign material on brake shoes and or braking discs. See New Brake Lining Burnish
