Viper GTS V10-8.0L VIN E (1999)
WARNING: HOLD ANTI-RATTLE SPRING IN PLACE WHILE REMOVING BRAKE PAD RETAINING PIN FROM CALIPER. IF
ANTI-RATTLE SPRING IS NOT HELD IN PLACE DURING REMOVAL OF RETAINING PIN, ANTI-RATTLE SPRING MAY FLY
OFF CALIPER CAUSING INJURY.
4. Remove the brake shoe retaining pin and the anti-rattle spring from the caliper assembly. Check the condition of the snap ring on the retaining pin.
Replace retaining pin if corroded, or the snap ring is worn or damaged.
Remove/Install Outboard Brake Shoe
5. Slide outboard brake shoe toward the rear of the vehicle until brake shoe clears top of caliper. Then lift the brake shoe out from between the
caliper and outboard side of rotor.
