Cotter Pin And Nut Lock
2. Remove the cotter pin, nut lock, and spring washer from the axle yoke.
Yoke To Hub/Bearing Nut
3. With the weight of the vehicle supported by the tires and the parking brake applied, loosen, but do not remove, the yoke to hub/bearing mounting
nut.
4. Raise vehicle on jackstands or centered on a frame contact type hoist.
5. Remove rear wheel and tire assembly.
6. Remove the shock absorber from the vehicle.
NOTE: Axle shaft removal is required to allow the use of the special tool required to remove the upper control arm ball joint from the knuckle.
7. Remove the driveshaft from the side of the vehicle requiring replacement of the upper ball joint seal boot.
