The Viper air inlet system does not preheat ambient air. On the Coupe model the majority of the inlet air is directed into the air cleaner front housing
from the hood mounted NACA duct (Fig. 43) or (Fig. 44). 

On the Roadster model the airduct connects directly to the front portion of the air cleaner. 

On both models the incoming ambient air passes through two filter elements in the air cleaner. From the filters ambient air passes through the throttle
bodies into the intake manifold.

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect the CCV make up air tube and idle air control motor air tube from the air cleaner.
2. Disconnect the intake air temperature sensor electrical connector.
3. Unscrew the rear fastener and release clips along the top of the air cleaner.
4. Loosen the clamps for the air cleaner to throttle body tubes.

Remove air cleaner rear section.

INSTALLATION

1. Reverse procedure to install the air cleaner rear section.
